Madyenkuku cautioned
Tuesday, 26 January 2010

The United Party for National Development (UPND) in Southern Province has cautioned Patriotic Front (PF) member Syacheye Madyenkuku against issuing unauthorized comments on the PF/UPND pact.

Choma, January 26  – The United Party for National Development (UPND) in Southern Province has cautioned Patriotic Front (PF) member Syacheye Madyenkuku against issuing unauthorized comments on the PF/UPND pact.

UPND Provincial Vice Chairperson John Chidyaka told ZANIS in Choma today that the opposition is disturbed by statements issued by Mr Madyenkuku which have the potential to destabilize the pact.

Mr Chidyaka said Mr Madyenkuku as a new member of the PF should accept that the PF/UPND pact has appointed an interim group at national level to speak on behalf of the alliance.

He said the wild statements being made by Mr Madyenkuku have been a source of worry to the UPND in Southern Province.

“Because we have people mandated to speak on behalf of the UPND-PF pact, we do not see where Mr Madyenkuku is getting the authority from to make statements,” Mr Chidyaka said.

Mr Chidyaka said Mr Madyenkuku should allow those that have been authorized by the PF/UPND pact to speak on behalf of the alliance especially that he is a new member in the PF.

Mr Madyenkuku who recently defected from the MMD to join the PF was quoted in yesterday’s Post Newspaper edition as having said PF leader Michael Sate was destined by God to lead this country.
